Mukesh Ambani's Antilia

Mukesh Ambani is the richest person in the country and is counted among the richest people in the world. Ambani’s house in Mumbai is also one of the most expensive houses in the world.

If you have ever been to Mumbai, this 27-storey building can be seen from afar. There is parking for 168 cars on just six floors. Apart from this, it has some of the world’s most select luxury facilities. Antilia has everything from a gym, spa, theater, terrace garden, swimming pool to temple and health care.

Antilia cost six thousand crores to build

Today, Antilia is worth Rs 15,000 crore. Antilia, located on Altamount Road in Kumbla Hill, Mumbai, is built on 1.120 acres of land. It was recorded as the most expensive house in the world in 2014. About Rs 6000 crore was spent on its construction. Its construction took four years.

The work of Antilia began in 2006 and was completed in 2010. It also has the ability to withstand earthquakes. Antilia can withstand earthquakes up to 8 on the Richter scale. But do you know what used to be on the land where Antilia is built?

Karimbhai Ibrahim built an orphanage in 1895

Long ago, there was an orphanage in the place of Antilia. This orphanage was built in 1895 by Karimbhai Ibrahim, a very rich man. This orphanage was built especially for children who do not have parents. The Waqf Board was responsible for running this orphanage. In 2002, the trust sought permission to sell this land. The Charity Commissioner on behalf of the government allowed the sale a few months later.

According to a report in The New Indian Express, this land was sold to Mukesh Ambani’s company. Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia Commercial Private Limited bought this land for 2.5 million dollars at that time. After purchasing the land, the Ambani family completed the paperwork and sought permission to construct a building on it. In 2003, the BMC approved the plan to build this building and its construction began in 2006.

600 employees work in Antilia

The name of the Ambani house is based on the island of Antilia in Spain. It was designed by the American architecture company Perkins & Will. 600 employees work in Antilia, their salaries are in lakhs. Several media reports claim that the salary of Ambani’s driver is around Rs 2.5 lakh per month.

Each floor has a different design

Each floor of the building has a different design. From this, you can guess its grandeur. This building has three helipads. Even after the construction work was completed in 2010, the Ambani family did not move into the building for a year.

The Ambani family suspected that there were architectural defects in it. In June 2011, around 50 Pandits worshipped at Antilia. The Ambani family then shifted here in September 2011.
