The much-awaited trailer of this romantic drama film has been released recently and is receiving a tremendous response from the audience. The makers of the film released this 2 minute 39 second trailer on Saturday (today), which depicts a deep and complex love story. It clearly shows love, pain and the complications in relationships.
Rashmika’s role as Bhuma
Rashmika Mandanna plays the character ‘Bhuma’ in the film, while Dhikshit Shetty plays the role of ‘Vikram’. The trailer begins with ‘Bhuma’ (Rashmika) asking her boyfriend ‘Vikram’, “Can we take a break?”, to which Vikram angrily replies, “Break means taking a break from one thing.”
The trailer shows Vikram as a ‘toxic’, domineering and suspicious boyfriend, who wants to have complete control over the relationship. Bhuma, on the other hand, is a quiet and simple girl, who is suffocating under the pressure of this relationship. In an emotional flashback, Vikram suddenly proposes marriage to Bhuma, which makes Bhuma feel uncomfortable due to his haste.
Starcast and Team
The film is directed and written by Rahul Ravindran. Hesham Abdul Wahab has composed the music, while Krishnan Vasant is in charge of the cinematography. The film stars Rashmika Mandanna, Dhikshit Shetty, Rao Ramesh and Rohini in the lead roles. Apart from Telugu, the film will also be released in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. ‘The Girlfriend’ will be released in theatres on November 7, 2025, and will give the audience a different experience of love that will make them think.
