Ali Goni’s reaction to not saying ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’
Aly Goni Ganapati Visarjan Video Controversy: A video of popular TV actor Ali Goni went viral a few days ago. In this video, Jasmine Bhasin and her friend Nia Sharma chanted ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’.
However, the actor was trolled for not saying ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’.
Now Ali has reacted to this trolling. Similarly, he has also told the reason behind why he did not say ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’. In an interview given to Filmygyan, Ali said, “I never thought that not saying ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’ could cause such a big problem. I respect every religion. I am not just saying this because I want to say it or even acting. If I had to act, I would have done it there too.”

He further said, “I didn’t know anything at that time. I was thinking to myself. I didn’t even know what I was thinking. But, I still don’t understand that my not saying ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’ can cause such a big problem. There are also people who are so empty-headed. I watch what is going on on social media. If I had to disrespect any religion, I wouldn’t have gone there prepared like that.”
After this, Ali said, “First of all, this is the first time I have gone for Ganpati. I have never gone to Ganpati before. I don’t know, Ganpati is worshipped, so I don’t know what they do there. I have been thinking till now that I should not do anything wrong in such places, because I immediately say something or do something. For example… if I go to the mosque to offer namaz and take a non-Muslim friend, will he know what is actually done there? No… I didn’t know that either.”
He further said, “This is not accepted in our religion, this is not worship in our religion. We offer prayers, we pray and we respect every religion. This is written in our Quran and I do it. I grew up in Jammu and it is a city of temples. There were many temples where I lived. I have often gone to temples with some of my friends, so I respect all of them. I will never say a bad word about any religion. Not just Hinduism; I will never say a bad word about any religion.”
After this, he said, “Another video is going viral, in which Jasmine has touched my chin. While announcing Ganpati’s one-two-three-four and then five-six-seven-eight, the word ‘cute’ came up somewhere; then Jasmine touched my chin and said ‘this is also cute’. So people said on that video that Jasmine was asking me to say Ganpati Bappa Morya, but I was not saying it. But, in fact, nothing like that happened. After this, I even received death threats. There is a demand to file a complaint against me.”
After this, Ali said, “I am a Muslim and all this is being said about me. So are the Hindus whose houses do not have Ganpati installed not Hindus? Many people posted my video of me not saying ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’, but only one person wrote on it that I did not say Ganpati Bappa Morya and it went viral. Then on X (formerly Twitter), those who had a red flag profile, I have received many comments like I am a terrorist, I should go to Pakistan, I am doing love jihad. No religion is important to me, but a person is important to me. Often, after seeing bad comments, I feel sad for those who troll me.”
