An advertisement for Harpic Toilet Cleaner made the actor popular and he bought a luxurious house in Mumbai. This advertisement for a toilet cleaner gave not one but two people a different identity.
The first is Hussain Kuwajerwala and the second is Vishal Malhotra… Vishal has been active in the glittering world for the last 30 years. Vishal shared the screen with actor Shahid Kapoor in the movie ‘Ishq Vishq’ released in 2003. Vishal played the role of Shahid’s friend in the movie. Vishal’s popularity increased due to the movie. But he was typecast. Not only that, he started getting work as a supporting actor. In such a situation, the actor rejected the role of the lead actor’s friend in the film and asked the directors to give him another role… This hit the actor hard…
In an interview, Vishal said, ‘I asked for different types of roles. But the producers and directors did not like my wish. The results were also very bad, for which I was not ready at all… When a powerful person rejects you, your career ends. After that, I did not get a permanent role for two years… Due to which I was very scared…’
Furthermore, the actor said, ‘After that, I was asked for an advertisement… Then like everyone else, a question came to my mind, Harpic is a toilet cleaner brand… Will this affect my identity? But I worked in that advertisement. Because before that, I was known as Mambo Vetal… But Harpic Toilet Clean gave me a new identity and Shah Rukh Khan is its brand ambassador.’
How much money did the actor get from Harpic? This question was also asked. ‘I have earned so much that I have bought a house for myself in Bandra. I do not have a car even today. I travel by Ola, Uber. I have an electric Hero cycle. My wife has a car. That car is used to drop and pick up the children. I like to live a simple life…’ the actor also said.
Talking about Vishal’s work, he has worked in serials like ‘Constable Girpade, ‘Meetha Khatta Pyaar Hamara’ and ‘Banda Ye Bindaas Hai’. Apart from this, the actor also has his own podcast called ‘The Vishal Hour’.
