The history of Hindi cinema is more than 100 years. During this century, many stars created a sensation on the screen. Some actors were known for their angry nature, while others were known for their stubbornness.
Some actors were in the news for their punctuality, while there were also some actors who swore not to be on the set on time. One film became a huge hit because of such actors. The film ‘Dostana’ released in 1980, in which Zeenat Aman was seen in the lead role along with Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha. Raj Khosla directed this film. Zeenat Aman had to make a big compromise for this film. This has been revealed recently by Sharmila Tagore.
Sharmila Tagore has been active in the film industry for almost 65 years. In a recent interview, she shared a funny story. She told an anecdote about Shatrughan Sinha who was always late on the set. He always came late on the set. While shooting for ‘Dostana’, Amitabh Bachchan was strict about his schedule, but Shatrughan Sinha always came late. Due to this, Zeenat Aman had to compromise her own schedule to meet both the stars.
Shatrughan Sinha never wanted to be on time!
Sharmila Tagore, while telling this story, said, ‘After Shashi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan was the only actor who used to come to the set on time. Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha and Zeenat Aman were in the lead roles in ‘Dostana’. But, Shatrughan Sinha used to always come late on this set too. Not only that, Shatrughan Sinha used to arrive late at his own wedding. He used to arrive late at Parliament too. Shatrughan Sinha never kept to the time.
The three of them were never seen in the same frame!
On the set of ‘Dostana’, Bachchan sahib’s car would leave at exactly 2 o’clock and Shatrughan Sinha’s car would enter at exactly 2 o’clock. Sharmila Tagore jokingly said, “You can imagine what happened that made Raj Khosla go bald while making this film. Amitabh, Shatrughan and Zeenat were not seen anywhere in the same frame in this film. Zeenat had scheduled her schedule according to their time.
