Arjun Kapoor and Varun Dhawan have a close bond and are close friends. They both trained together at Barry John’s Institute under Saurabh Sachdeva.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Galatta India, Arjun opened up about a short film he made with Varun during that time. He also admitted that he is not very proud of the work he has done in it. He also sarcastically said that this could be the reason why he got ‘less work’ from Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions at one point in his career.
Thinking of starting a production house together
During the interview, Arjun was asked if he and Varun were thinking of starting a production house together. He replied, “Varun basically fooled me. He said I had a good role in a seven-minute short film. We were learning acting from Barry John at the time. He decided that we wanted to direct the final film. I was like, ‘Okay, how bad is he going to do’?” He added, “He wrote the film and said, ‘You are his hero’. We started shooting and Varun was directing. When I saw the edit, I realised that he was actually the hero and I was the villain. He didn’t tell me all this and I came to know about it after finishing the shooting”.

Woh daksha hai brukshok swami type ka
He added, “His dialogues in that film are very accurate, ‘Woh daksha hai brukshok swami type ka, par hai ahe harami type ka (He looks innocent, but he is a scoundrel)’. The film is available on YouTube in which Varun is seen wearing a T-shirt. I won’t tell you the name because I am not very proud of it”.
Arjun also revealed that Varun showed the short film to Karan Johar. “He showed the short film to Karan Johar. Can you imagine? I think that’s why I got less work from Dharma at one point,” he said with a laugh.
Talking about work, Arjun Kapoor was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again. The action thriller starring Ajay Devgn, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tiger Shroff was a box office success. He will next be seen in ‘To Mere Pati Ki Biwi’ alongside Rakul Preet Singh and Bhumi Pednekar.
