Pankaj Dheer Death: Actor Pankaj Dheer, who played the role of Karna in B. R. Chopra’s serial ‘Mahabharata’, has passed away. His old friend and colleague Amit Bahl has confirmed this news.
He was battling cancer. Finally, today (September 15, Wednesday), he breathed his last. Pankaj had successfully defeated cancer earlier. But a few months ago, he was diagnosed with cancer again. He also underwent surgery for it. He breathed his last at the age of 68.
He breathed his last at around 11.30 am on Wednesday. The news of Pankaj’s death has spread mourning in the art world. Actor Feroz Khan, who played the role of Arjun in ‘Mahabharata’, expressed his grief. “It is true that he is no more. Personally, I have lost my best friend. As a person, he was very good. I still cannot believe that he has passed away,” he said.
Pankaj Dhir has worked in many serials and films till now. But the role of Karna in B. R. Chopra’s serial ‘Mahabharat‘ earned him special popularity. Moreover, the audience also showered love on his role of Shivdutt in ‘Chandrakanta’. He has worked in serials like ‘Badho Bahu’, ‘Yug’, ‘The Great Maratha’, ‘Ajuni’. Apart from this, he has also appeared in films like ‘Soldier’, ‘Tumko Na Bhool Paengay’, ‘Rishte’, ‘Andaz’, ‘Sadak’ and ‘Baadshah’.
