Mumbai-based lawyer and social activist Sheikh Fayaz Alam has called for a boycott of Sikandar. He claims that director AR Murugadoss has previously promoted Islamophobia in his films. Alam specifically pointed to Murugadoss’s 2012 Tamil film Thuppakki, alleging that it portrayed Muslims in a negative light.
According to reports from The Free Press Journal, Alam urged people not to spend money on Sikandar. Instead, he encouraged them to donate money to charitable causes, particularly for the education and legal aid of Muslims.
In a statement quoted by Times Now, Alam further linked the boycott to political issues, mentioning the Waqf Amendment Bill and support for Palestine. He urged people to reconsider their spending choices and invest in more meaningful causes instead of watching Sikandar.
