Sakshi Tanwar is originally from Alwar, Rajasthan. Her father Rajendra Singh Tanwar is a retired CBI officer. Sakshi completed her graduation from Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi and started working as a sales trainee in a five-star hotel. After working in a hotel for some time, Sakshi made her debut on TV with ‘Albela Sur Mela’ in 1998.
