Madhu Sapre had won the runner-up title in the 1992 Miss Universe contest. Milind Soman had already made a name for himself in the Indian modeling field by then. He gained popularity in the same year with Alisha Chinai’s popular music album Made in India. In 1995, the international brand ‘Tuffs Shoes’ was looking to establish itself in India.
