The creator of Ullu app was preparing to bring an IPO of his company when the government suddenly gave him a shock. This will cause a huge loss to his company.

You will be surprised to read that the creator of Ullu app is not a film director or producer but an IIT topper. Vibhu Agarwal, who studied BTech from IIT Kanpur, made this app. He had good knowledge of the business world and achieved good success in it. After that, Vibhu tried his luck in the entertainment field. After graduation, Vibhu did his MBA from Japan and went to Stanford University to do his PhD in Biomedical Informatics. He returned to India with good experience in the field of science and medicine.
His professional journey did not start now, but 30 years ago. Vibhu Agarwal entered the business world soon after returning to India and started his first steel manufacturing company, JEPCO India, in 1995. He got success in this soon and turned to entertainment and media.
He created the Ullu app in 2018. This app has more than 5 crore active users and 11 crore people have downloaded it. Its annual subscription is Rs 1 thousand. In the financial year 2024, this app earned 100 crores and then was preparing for an IPO of 150 crores when the government banned it. The Child Rights Commission had also demanded a ban on this app many times.
According to the government, the Ullu app was showing soft porn content, which was easily accessible to children. Therefore, it was banned on social and moral grounds.
